About

Before Sunset Studio is an entirely queer-owned, queer-run photography studio based in the centre of Nottingham, UK.

Meet our founder, Costanza Bergo:

I love images so much that a couple of years ago I secured the most unemployable qualification imaginable: a PhD in Visual Culture. I now share my time between lecturing at Nottingham Trent University and running Before Sunset Studio.

The name is inspired by Richard Linklater’s Before film trilogy, which have an unpretentious yet romantic aesthetic, and, above all, are deeply emotionally honest.

There is no greater feeling to me than to make people feel seen. That instinct alongside a deep understanding of visual storytelling guides every photo I take, helping me create images that don't just look beautiful, but also tell a story - your story!

  • "Working with Costanza was a joy throughout. She was so professional and discreet, a fly on the wall never in the way. She really took the time to work with us and get us exactly the content we wanted to advertise for our retreats. I cannot recommend her enough"

    Lifestyle Client

  • "I never thought I'd see a photo of myself where I really felt like myself, let alone one where I genuinely love the way I look. You've helped me see things in myself I never even imagined were there".

    Gender Affirming Client

  • "Cosy has been shooting our event and promos for years and we would genuinely never want to work with anyone else."

    Lifestyle Client

  • "How you achieved such gorgeous photos with a combination of no prepping, pink eye, and time pressure from a tired baby is truly a miracle - I never doubted it, but l have absolutely all the faith in your business"

    Creative Portrait Client

  • "Delighted with the photos taken by Costanza - they felt genuine and perfectly captured the moments we shared."

  • "I had never done anything like this before and I fear Cosy has now set the bar too high. She made me feel completely at ease despite shooting in a public park, and was regularly checking in with me about how much direction/collaboration I needed as we moved around the park. I adore the results and love them the more I look at them. She also made sure I knew what to expect of the process and what her timelines are for editing the shots. Once I got the edits back, I was stunned by how beautiful they are and what art we'd created together!"
